The way we study at Proakatemia is exceptional and exciting. The fact that we learn by doing and don’t have any lectures or teachers telling us what to do is in my opinion the future way of learning. It requires entrepreneurial mindset, a talent that could play a big role in the future organisations.
Entrepreneurial mindset is about certain way of thinking – the way in which we approach the challenges and mistakes we face in everything that we do. It enables us to improve our skill set and encourages us to try and try again.
In his Forbes’ article “6 Tips For Growing With An Entrepreneurial Mindset” Arash Asli describes six characteristics of entrepreneurs. I was pleased to see that these tips are actually very similar to the methods we use in our studies, in Proakatemia. I will give a couple of examples.
The article encourages you to “embrace challenges” and to in fact chase them. It is about putting yourself in challenging situations and finding out by doing so that you not only equip yourself with the skills to deal with those very challenges but also the confidence of knowing that you were able to succeed.
What about if I don’t succeed?
Much of the entrepreneurial life has to do with trial and error, which naturally leads to making mistakes. But you shouldn’t be afraid of making mistakes, because mistakes are an opportunity for growth. In my opinion, this is the core of entrepreneurial mindset and a familiar subject to teampreneurs in Proakatemia. We discuss about the mistakes we have made in our projects and learn from them.
We encourage each other all the time to go to everyone’s own “discomfort zone” because that is the place where we grow the most. Trying new things can be scary, but the greatest thing is that we don’t have to do it alone. We have our teams’ support. The power in being a teampreneur is that we face challenges together and we succeed together.
Another tip from the article encourages you to read on a daily basis. Entrepreneurs are always looking to learn new skills and improving themselves in some way. In order to get into the entrepreneurial mindset, you have to act like an entrepreneur. You have to make a commitment about becoming a better version of yourself. This means that you need to nourish your brain by reading every day.
Reading business related books and writing essays about them is a part of our curriculum in Proakatemia. We are free to choose the books that we read. This allows us to learn about the subjects that feel the most relevant or interesting. Through books we learn about the skills that we want to improve and that we need for making different projects.
These are just some of the ways we strengthen our entrepreneurial mindset at Proakatemia. Come visit us and join us on dialogue about the future way of learning!
